Closing the window on fuzzy dark matter with the 21-cm signal

Fuzzy dark matter (FDM) is a well-motivated candidate for (DM) as its tiny mass and large de-Broglie wavelength suppress small-scale fluctuations, thereby solving some of the discrepancies in $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Lambda}}\mathrm{CDM}$. Although it has been ruled out single component DM by several observables, there still region FDM parameter space (the ``FDM window,'' ${10}^{\ensuremath{-}25}\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{eV}\ensuremath{\lesssim}{m}_{\mathrm{FDM}}\ensuremath{\lesssim}\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}{10}^{\ensuremath{-}23}\text{ }\mathrm{eV}$) where allowed to comprise portion total DM. In this work, first time, we study signature (comprised ultralight axions) fractions less than unity on 21-cm signal detectability interferometers such HERA, taking into account degeneracy with both astrophysical cosmological parameters, using new pipeline that combines modified versions camb 21-cmfast codes. Our forecasts imply HERA design performance will be sensitive small 1% window, improve over existing bounds other masses up an order magnitude.
